THE SLOW MUSIC OF SUMMER

The flowering of the moon
Over several thousand nights,
Centuries of stars (all of them)
Falling towards the earth as
Awkward raindrops.

Slow music of the summer,
An orchestra of shining insects
Clarifies the fragile accomplishments
That are heard only occasionally
By the distant ocean.

Human beings want simple things,
To be able to fly, to save all animals:
Saint-like mysteries divined by experience.
In my dreams, from those wishes,
I carve quiet wooden shapes

El florecimiento de la luna
Durante varias mil noches,
Siglos de las estrellas (todas ellas)
Que caen hacia la tierra
como torpes gotas de agua.

Música lenta del verano,
Una orquesta de insectos brillantes
Aclara las realizaciones frágiles
Que son oídas sólo ocasionalmente
Por el océano lejano.

Los seres humanos quieren cosas simples,
Poder volar, salvar a todos los animales:
Misterios adivinados como santos por la experiencia.
En mis sueños tallo silenciosas figuras de madera
De esos deseos.
